2023 Steward's Cup Results

Thank you to all who played in this year’s Steward’s Cup - this was an ongoing Thursday evening competition spread across the Summer months with everyone battling it out every week over 9 holes to achieve the best average score. This year’s winner was Mark Proud with a great average score of 18.25 stableford points which put him a whole point away from second place, the Steward himself; Adam Lamb (would’ve been rude to win his own competition…)

The Steward’s Cup was such a great way to get members up to the club on a Thursday evening and proved very beneficial for new members to mix with and get to know everyone. I look forward to many more years of this competition!

Throughout the competition, a portion of the entry money was put towards the End of Season party so keep your eyes peeled for news to come on this!

The Steward’s Cup may be over for this season but don’t let that put you off an evening round as there is still plenty of sunlight hours left this year - the clubhouse and bar will be open until 9pm so it sounds like the ideal way to spend your weekday evening.

2023 Club Championship

Amidst the competition, Gordon Hay displayed exceptional skill, combining accuracy and perseverance to secure victory. With determined rounds of 82 and 85, Hay achieved a commendable total of 167, making him the well-deserved winner of the Gordon Coombes trophy.

Parallel to the other competitions, the 18-hole stableford event added an element of excitement to the day's proceedings. Her strategic shot-making and consistent performance throughout the round were truly admirable.

Such an exceptional day would not have been possible without the efforts of many individuals who worked tirelessly behind the scenes. Matthew Barr deserves heartfelt appreciation for organizing the Club Championship, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all participants. Additionally, Adam Lamb's culinary delights provided sustenance and delight to the golfers, enhancing the overall experience.

For the third consecutive year, the weather proved to be an incredible ally, with the sun shining brightly and the temperature soaring to 30 degrees. The sky remained cloudless, creating a picturesque backdrop for the championship. Moreover, the competition ran smoothly, thanks to the meticulous planning and execution of the event organizers.

Lastly, a sincere and wholehearted thank you goes out to all the participants who contributed to the success of the Club Championship.
